The great Pōhutukawa tree, Te Waha O Rerekohu, stands here, in the small town of Te Araroa, as it has for centuries. Its gnarled winding branches strech over 21 metres tall and its seasonally vibrant canopy covers an area 40 metres across at its widest point.
