A short hike leads to the ruins of a small castle once owned by a baronessa in the late 1800s to 1910. Legend has it she was intent on hiding her broken vows of chastity by causing the mysterious disappearances of the men and boys she had seduced. Locals say these victims met their end in the castle’s dungeon or the quicksand that dotted the surrounding area.
