Cowboy Hat and Boot Houses in Huntsville, Texas

The hat house

Forget the old woman in the shoe, Huntsville, Texas has upped the ante with a pair of homes shaped like iconic Western wear. The first to appear was the Cowboy Boot House, designed in the early 1970s by local artist and architect Dan Phillips. Standing tall along a busy stretch of town, the stucco boot features windows, balconies, and even a Texas-shaped design etched into the side.

Not long after, its neighbor arrived: a Cowboy Hat House with a broad, sweeping brim for a roof, perched right next door. Together, the duo has become a local landmark.
