Within the quaint town of Bryan, Ohio, there lives a curious water tower that requires a second glance. The “Dum Dum” water tower is a distinctive landmark linked to the Spangler Candy Company.

It is located on West Mulberry Street, adjacent to the Spangler Candy Company factory. Originally built in 1946, the giant water tower holds an impressive 400,000 gallons of water and stands 146 feet high. While owned by the City of Bryan, it is situated on the campus of Spangler Candy Company, the manufacturer of Dum Dum lollipops.

The company is one of the largest single lollipop manufacturers in the world. The tower was painted by the award-winning artist, Eric Henn. Henn has been painting water towers and other giant murals for over thirty years. On the sweet mural, viewers will see eight 65-foot-tall Dum-Dums lollipops that represent some of their most popular flavors.
