Retro game console embedded onto magnetic power bank
Mobile BOY is a magnetic power bank with an embedded retro game console at the back that lets users charge their smartphones and play at once. With around 300 games installed, the device doesn’t need an internet connection to work. Users just choose one from the list and start playing while they wait for their smartphones to get fully charged. The compact design means a small but visible display and one that’s pocket-friendly, so gamers can bring it with them anywhere (and they have to since they need to charge their personal devices with it).
The layout of the magnetic power bank follows that of the retro game consoles. On the left side sit the command buttons, while the right part has the directional pad. Simple switches are found on top of these two, including the start and reset buttons. The device comes in silver, pink, and black, all of which have a black background to help the display appear clear and vivid. Instead of going for an edge design, the maker, Oscar Japan Inc., opts for rounded sides, which makes the device look more like a power bank than a game console, at least from behind.

Wrist strap for mobile boy so users can carry it anywhere
On the upper right side of Mobile BOY, users can include a wrist strap so they can hold onto the magnetic power bank slash retro game console while charging their smartphones. On the bottom left side lies the tiny screen that flashes the battery percentage, and once it runs out, users can charge the device using a USB-C. Then, there are two small speaker grilles below the device so the gamers can hear louder sounds even if the device is compact.
The battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh, which may be ideal for a single charge in most of today’s smartphones. The device is only applicable to modern gadgets that allow wireless charging, but in case the gamers don’t have them, they can just use the game console part of the tech. So far, the company’s campaign for the magnetic power bank with a retro game console hopes for a late 2025 delivery, but potentially just around Japan.
